Tim Laatsch

As the technical agronomy manager, Tim Laatsch, leads the North American agronomy team at Koch Agronomic Services (Koch). His territory covers the eastern half of the U.S. and Ontario. Laatsch coordinates with all third-party research outlets to collect data to share with both retail customers and growers. He joined Koch in 2018 with more than 20 years of agronomic and animal science experience, previously working with the GROWMARK, the University of Illinois and Maschhoffs—the largest family-owned pork producer in North America. Laatsch earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in crop and soil science from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and Michigan State University respectively. He is both a Certified Crop Advisor and a Certified Professional Agronomist, with specialties in 4R nutrient management and sustainability. Laatsch’s practical experience extends to farming his own operation for the past 20 years, growing corn, wheat and cover crops in southern Illinois.

His areas of expertise include: soil science, nutrient management, integrated pest management and cover cropping.
