Koch Agronomic Services Expands Availability of OPTRIENT™ Foliar Nutrient Formulation

Liquid foliar product now available for a variety of row and specialty crops.

WICHITA, Kan. – Koch Agronomic Services (KAS) announces their liquid foliar product, OPTRIENT™ MoCo-Ni, is now available to growers for use in a variety of row and specialty crops across the U.S. Previously only available for fruit and nut trees, OPTRIENT MoCo-Ni improves nitrogen utilization, mitigates stress and optimizes crop performance by delivering a targeted application of molybdenum, cobalt and nickel.

“As yield goals continue to increase, micronutrients, in addition to macronutrients, play an even more important role in crop management,” said Greg Hunter, vice president of global sales at KAS. “Growers need products that are not only effective but also easy to use. That’s where OPTRIENT formulations can be impactful.”

Available in two ready-to-use, liquid formulations, OPTRIENT foliar nutrient products deliver nutrients precisely where crops need them most.

OPTRIENT MoCo-Ni is a liquid foliar containing molybdenum, cobalt and nickel in a formulation with broad tank mix compatibility. These key nutrients work in synergy to improve plant health and nitrogen utilization.

OPTRIENT NITAMIN is a 30-0-0 foliar fertilizer with 60% slow-release nitrogen. With a low salt index and low levels of ammonia and biuret, it can be safely applied directly to the leaf’s surface for rapid absorption and green-up.

Additional OPTRIENT benefits include:

  • Ready-to-use formulation that delivers the right amount of nutrients in a plant-available form while seamlessly combining with a wide range of nutrients, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides to give growers greater application flexibility.
  • Targeted nutrition applied directly to the crop for increased nitrogen use efficiency and quick absorption of nutrients to optimize nutrient uptake.
  • Optimized crop performance and yield potential by providing essential nutrients to assist plant growth and vigor. In 2024 trials, OPTRIENT MoCo-Ni was shown to increase cotton lint yield by 100 lbs/acre1 and increase the amount of split nut in pistachios by as much as 11%2 when compared to untreated.

“Many growers focus on the primary nutrients — N, P, and K — when considering nutrient needs. But there’s nothing micro about the importance of micronutrients, especially when yields are at stake,” Hunter said. “Expanding the use of OPTRIENT MoCo-Ni to a variety of crops is just one more way KAS is committed to soil health, plant nutrition and helping growers achieve their yield goals through optimized plant health.”
