NBPT and DCD are key active ingredients in dual inhibitors, and the amount of each directly correlates to how well a product will inhibit the loss of nitrogen.

Third-party research indicates that products that provide a DCD concentration load on finished urea fertilizer less than 1,500 parts per million (ppm), show no statistical difference from untreated urea.

Growers must be cautious when deciding on so called "dual inhibitors" that promise a lot but do not have an active ingredient concentration that is agronomically effective, leading to potential low crop performance, and reduced ROI.
