Protecting Your Nitrogen Through Unpredictable Weather

Rain or shine, you need reliable products proven to provide consistent results. An enhanced efficiency fertilizer like SUPERU™ premium fertilizer from Koch Agronomic Services (Koch) gets the job done. How? By stopping the elements from robbing your crops of valuable nitrogen.

"There are many things that growers can control, but weather isn’t one of them," says Tim Laatsch, technical agronomy manager at Koch. "Too much rainfall before crops are actively growing can lead to nitrogen losses. A proven solution such as SUPERU helps growers mitigate the risk of unforeseen weather conditions that favor nitrogen loss."

SUPERU has the highest concentration of nitrogen available in a finished, granular fertilizer product and delivers unsurpassed efficiency and protection from all three forms of nitrogen loss. That sort of productivity means your crops can reach their full yield potential while ultimately boosting your bottom line.

SAFEGUARD CROPS WITH TRIPLE PROTECTION

Providing protection both above and below the ground is one of the best ways to secure your crop. SUPERU guards against all three forms of nitrogen loss—volatilization, leaching and denitrification—and is the only granular fertilizer to incorporate both urease and nitrification inhibitors. Best of all, it’s safe to use on all crops and pastures requiring a nitrogen fertilizer and its flexible application means your investments are always protected—even when surface-applied or shallow-incorporated.

"Some growers can look back at the unfortunate weather we had last spring and see where a premium fertilizer like SUPERU would have helped them keep more nitrogen in their fields," says Laatsch. "By making that sustainable decision to protect their nitrogen investment this year, growers can minimize their potential for loss and increase crop productivity despite the weather."

TRIED AND TRUSTED

Backed by 25 years of research and hundreds of field trials, the science behind SUPERU is shown to enhance nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) and boost yield potential. In a study conducted in Glyndon, Minnesota, SUPERU was shown to reduce calculated cumulative nitrate leaching by 30 percent. That reduction in leaching doesn’t just preserve more nitrogen for crops but it minimizes potential losses to nearby water sources, too.

Skeptics can also look to four years of field trials conducted across four locations and 15 different site years by the University of Illinois. Agronomists there studied 19 different combinations of nitrogen form, placement and timing, and SUPERU broadcast at planting ranked number one with an average corn yield of 229 bu/acre.1

PLAN TODAY. FLOURISH TOMORROW.

Don’t wait for the next storm before making a decision on your nitrogen management plan. Decrease the impact of unpredictable weather this season by protecting your nitrogen investment from all three forms of loss.

To see if SUPERU is the right fertilizer for your operation, speak with your KAS sales representative or local retailer.
